BACK TO GOOD HAIR DAYS
This post is sponsored by @Pantene, All opinions and words are my own.
It may sound silly but there's something about a "Great hair day" that puts most of us in such a great mood. It's truly the little things. I feel like my hair definitely had a personality of its own. I don't always know what I'll get up when I start fussing with it in the morning. So many little things go into the outcome. How I slept on it, the weather, what I put in it, or didn't put it in. But if there's one thing I've learned around improving the odds for a great hair day, is that I always have to get my foundational basics right.
And that foundation is the 1-2 punch of Shampoo & conditioner. You've got to start right to end right. Now, I've tried my fair share of hair products, the options seem to be endless. But I recently started coloring my hair, just a little color to cover some surprising greys that decided to show up early. I should have known, my mum started showing greys in her early 30's so I knew I was due. Despite taking all the care in the world, I realized that my go-to shampoo/conditioner options just didn't seem to leave my hair feeling the same. I mean they were OK, but there was a noticeable (at least for me) difference in the feel of my hair. It felt drier, retained less moisture, and seemed to require more manipulation than I needed previously. I couldn't tell if it was the color or if my hair had simply tired of those products, but I knew I needed to switch it up a little, to kickstart my hair health.
Now, I've trusted Pantene in the past, I have several of their products that I have used for different targeted hair problems and I was interested to see if the Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Collection was worth exploring and even more importantly, worth adding to the rotation.
The Repair & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner are intended to fight damage in every wash, so for all the color and additional manipulation that I was putting my hair through, this was going to be the direct counteraction to that. And as a bonus, the Repair & Protect Collection helps prevent up to 90% of future styling and heat damage. Keep reading for my first impressions!
First Impressions Verdict: The shampoo has a familiar Pantene scent - which is a good thing for anyone who is already a Pantene fan and one I think you'll welcome if you're not familiar with their products. For me, the one thing I need to avoid is a shampoo that strips away everything from my hair leaving it squeaky and brittle. That did not happen here. Instead, I had a nice lather, that allowed for effortless detangling. I'm rarely successful at detangling at the shampoo level, so I was happy about that. The star of the show for me has to be the rich, luxurious feeling conditioner. I especially love the scent of this conditioner and the feel of it. I actually feel like you need to use these products together, they seem to complement each other.
My first impressions of hair products are usually right. My hair can often tell right away whether or not it likes something. These have earned a place in the line-up and I plan on keeping them around. I should have another update in a few months, but this is definitely looking like where my hair needs to be - to get me to more good or even Great hair days.
