You Gotta Give this Girl a Listen!

It must be a blessing and a curse to be compared to the gone much too soon Amy Winehouse.  A blessing because heck you're being compared to Amy but a quasi-curse, cos then people think you're a copycat, a cheap knock-off, not quite original. I say forget all that and meet Kendra Morris.

I never know when I'm going to find new music, thankfully it happens often enough that I have something to share.  Two nights ago I was catching up on movie trailers ( I do that- I think I'm never more interested in a movie than when I see that trailer for the first time, of course by the time the movie comes out, its out of my system...) anyways there's a new movie coming out with my original Girl with the dragon tattoo Noomi Rapace (luv her), Colin Farrell and Terrence Howard. The movie, "Dead Man Down" seemed interesting enough but the only thing that really held my attention was the song playing throughout. I quickly Googled ("TGFG") and I found out it was a Kendra Morris cover of Pink Floyds "Shine on you Crazy Diamond".

I hoped (she's a bit of a bad-ass) Kendra had more material than just that one track and I was pleased to find out her album Banshee had just been released late 2012. I have been listening to that album,  digging the lyrics, without skipping tracks all day yesterday and today.  Could someone please play more of this on the radio? Somebody? Anybody?
