VISIT THE BAHAMAS
A Perfect Family Getaway to The Bahamas: A Mom’s Guide
OK my fellow travel-loving friends, here’s one you think you know. But I’m not sure you do. Also, I have to add, that while alot has stayed the same in how I traveled before kids, a lot has also changed. These days, as a mom of energetic and autistic twin 4-year-old boys, I know how important it is to plan a vacation that keeps everyone happy and entertained. Our recent trip to The Bahamas was a dream come true, and I’m excited to share our itinerary and some other fun tidbits with you. From where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and some fun facts, here’s everything you need to know for an unforgettable family adventure.
WHERE TO STAY: BAHA MAR
Baha Mar is The Bahamas' newest luxury resort destination nestled on the pristine sands of Nassau’s Cable beach. You get to choose from three iconic oceanfront hotels — the richly refined Rosewood, the playfully hip SLS, or the stylish and modern Grand Hyatt — each offering stunning views and an epic selection of pools. We knew we were going to do a lot for the kids, so we wanted the elevated refinement of the Rosewood Baha Mar for our stay.
First Impressions:
From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty and sophistication of Rosewood Baha Mar. The resort’s architecture seamlessly blends modern luxury with island aesthetics, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.
We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Room, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The room was spacious, with a private balcony offering breathtaking views of the turquoise waters. The boys loved the plush beds, and the thoughtful touches like the welcome treats, stuffed flamingoes and personalized notes made us feel incredibly special.
Rosewood Baha Mar boasts a variety of dining options that cater to all tastes. Here are a few of our favorites:
Costa: For a taste of coastal Mexican cuisine, Costa was a hit. The vibrant atmosphere and delicious food: from ceviche, to octopus, to tacos were perfect for a casual family dinner. Let’s be honest, we ate there lunch time too. Go early because you’ll find yourself spending time feeding the beautiful fish they have in the ponds that encircle the restaurant.
The Library: This elegant lounge was our go-to spot for afternoon tea. The boys loved the selection of pastries, and it’s just a cool space.
Other Highlights:
Kids Club: The Rosewood Explorers Club is a lifesaver. We didn’t get to spend as much time there, but there was so much to do there, that we knew we would have been well off dropping off the boys. The space is spread out and clean, with a variety of activities, from arts and crafts to treasure hunts, enough to keep our busiest little ones occupied.
Even more special for fun family time is the Baha Bay Waterpark - which is directly adjacent to the property. More on this later.
For a bit of pampering, I treated myself to a massage at the Sense Spa. The serene environment and skilled therapists made it a truly rejuvenating experience.
The service at Rosewood Baha Mar is impeccable. From the concierge to the housekeeping staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
