Pardon the interruption (non-etsy)

Now, most if not everyting I talk about here is Etsy related, but every now and then I'm just going to need to talk about some other things. The main reason I began this blog was to share things I found interesting enough or worth sharing.

This afternoon, the hubby and I decided to go to one of our fav brunch spots, Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn.  Unfortunately, everyone else decided to do same. See, it was a beautiful day, we're not guaranteed to have many more of those and I guess everyone was out and about. Now, Buttermilk Channel has some amazing pancakes, and I wanted them sooo bad. We get there at around 2pm, and before we can even get comfortable, the hostess informs us they would not be taking any more people for brunch. I thought I was going to die. First of all, we were starving and out of corner of my eye, I could see this on someone else's plate

Now, seriously what were we supposed to do. All our backup spots were out of the way. And we were starving. We started driving to our backu, when the hubby concerned we may be faced with another long wait, pulled over and said we'll just have to try something, anything.

That's how we ended up at Sue-Perette's. As soon as we walked in, I was worried. It was almost completely empty. Everywhere else on the block had been packed.  I couldnt see any reason why it would be empty. I mean, it was lovely decor, brick walls, classic French music playing (Shazam confirmed it was Serge Gainsbourg) and immediately welcoming service.

Could the food be so horrible? Being as starved as I was I ordered the raclette burger, the hubby went with poached salmon, but we decided to start with their Banana Pancakes with fresh fruit. Excuse the pic below, we really should have taken one as it arrived- but we were too hungry and it smelled so good. And very very good it was. In fact, the hubby who doesn't normally care for pancakes, said they had to be some of the best he's ever had.

I showed a little more restraint with my Raclette burger, which was also very good. Note: if you like soft brioches or bread, this may not be for you. But it worked just perfect for me.

While I can't swear by the entire menu, I just wanted to share this bit: Go to Sue-Perette's, there's no reason this place should be empty, especially not with pancakes like these. Moral of the story is: sometimes you just gottta give someone else a chance- u have no idea what you might be missing.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
