PTI: Do Good
Lately I've been intrigued by volunteer vacations. Perfect two birds one stone scenario. I realized almost immediately that so many of these programs were actually quite pricey, as you not only had to pay for travel, room and board but also a program fee. All the costs associated became very much of a disincentive to participate.
That is, until I stumbled upon Shabby of a boy from another planet. Shabby is a travel blogger and I have loved reading his stories of adventures across Asia and all the interesting people he's met along the way. On a recent post he detailed his personal experience with Isara, a volunteer program based in Thailand which offers free room and board and has no Program fees. I think Shabby tells it best, check out his blog for a complete review of the program and his experience there.
