PTI: Vacation Planning

Right about now, the hubby and myself have started looking into what vacation plans we could possibly make for the year.  There's been so much going on, that sometimes if you don't just tell yourself that you need to make a break happen, it won't.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not the most easygoing person when it comes to trip planning, especially when it comes to accommodation.  I mean, I will and can cut corners in every aspect; what we eat, how we travel, what we buy- but when it comes to where we stay, I really turn into a little princess.  Of course, that means that even a short trip can end up being a little pricey.

What we have learned in the past few years when we travel, is that high end hotels, are not the only ones that offer high end service.  If you happen to be going to any of these places, consider the following vacation rental companies.  They are often times cheaper than even your run of the mill Holiday Inn and offer much better service and facilities than some big name hotels.  In addition, because you generally get apartment with fully functional kitchen, you can save on a couple meals a day by making your own breakfast, storing goodies in fridge without any extras for valet or room service (those I could live without).

MONTREAL
LoftsinMontreal: Most of their lofts can accommodate a couple or even a group.  There's generally several bedrooms, and as such, a group of 5-6 can get away with $250/night for a loft apartment.

Not all vacation rentals are created equal, so make sure to check sites like Tripadvisor and slowtravel for updated reviews, just to make sure that the vacation rental continues to maintain top service and facilities.
